Working in different genres has always been a challenging task — one always has to seek the middle ground. INNERSIDE (Astrakhan, Russia) have been mixing different metal genres (with a clear predominance of thrash and death metal) for a while now. Three years after the reboot of the band they have finally recorded their debut. And it is far from another “musical Frankenstein’s monster” created from different pieces of heterogeneous matter. It’s a tightly knit organism functioning at the interface of heavy music genres known as death/thrash metal. Groovy rhythm section combined with tough guitar riffery delivers the sense of inevitability and despair. This structure is topped with extreme vocals sporadically punctuated by clean voice, as it were, to show us that human anger is not incoherent — it has a quite specific direction. The lyrics deal with social and gloomy utopian subjects as the album aims to reveal human vices. This album will catch fancy of a wide range of heavy and extreme metal fans. Everyone will find something that suits his or her taste or even recognize him-/herself in one of the characters, who knows...
