A new 72 minute-long album by EVILFORCES (black metal, Mexico)! This is the very case when the band name 100% matches the final result. The project promisingly named EVILFORCES plays raw, gravely cold and grim black metal where each note is imbued with the atmosphere of ancient Evil! Lyrics and concept (for the first album) talks about the book "The Maskim Hul" and its misteries, conjures and ancient Assyrian gods/ demons. Also is connected with a brief story of demonic activities, poltergeists, possession of Nataly, a young little girl who is tormented by these ancient Assyrian energies and most horror stuff. The album is entitled Pest Plagues & Storms, Black Metal on the vein of the early 90s second wave but with modern sound.

Winds of Sorrow est l'une des multiples facettes de l'artiste néo-zélandais Mort et aussi l'une des plus brèves puisque seul Through Twilight... naîtra sous ce patronyme. Mort part d'un bon concept, à savoir créer un doom metal/dungeon avec une emphase sur ce dernier, mais voit trop grand en visant le format de l'album alors qu'une démo était suffisante. Les atmosphères gothiques et parfois folkloriques sont envoûtantes mais couvrent trop une voix qu'on finit par oublier. Un album sympathique. Jordan Vauvert
